Alcohol addiction seriously demans the immune system and people troubled by alcohol abuse are likely to experience severe infections for example, tuberculosis, pneumonia, and various types of cancer.

Alcohol addiction can also damage the peripheral and central nervous system, leading to serious cognitive deterioration.

Alcohol-dependent males may also experience impotency, testicular wasting and gynecomastia.

Drinking alcohol during pregnancy can cause mental retardation, facial disfigurement and/or other neurological problems like foetal alcohol syndrome.
