Quitting drinking does not have to be painful!
I started drinking to have fun and socialize with my friends. In later years I drank to forget about my problems. Then I drank because I could’t feel “normal” without a drink. I continued to drink because my life was falling apart around me, which was the consequence of my drinking.
I was only able to change when I recognized that I was an alcoholic and I was losing everything.
Once you are an alcoholic it is incredibly hard to break the cycle. I came very close to losing my family and friends. I really had hit rock bottom and I knew I had to quit.
